It is the intent of the Resource Directors Association (RDA) to organize and promote the awareness of this unique profession within the Architecture and Design community and create a standard for it.
RDA members meet once per month at a different design firm or showroom. This is intended to show the different ways each resource person manages, categorizes and catalogs information. The first fifteen minutes of each meeting is dedicated to discussing new products, specification issues and reviewing news and changes within the industry. The main topic or speaker is then introduced and the subject is discussed for the balance of the meeting. Annual planning meetings are held each fall to vote on meeting topics for the coming year. Other annual meetings include a Green round table discussion in the spring and a NeoCon Review in July.
The RDA was founded in 1997 by Danielle Marcel, Royce Epstein and Vanessa Chavez, after an Ex-Libras conference sponsored by Interface Flooring. Founding members include Katherine Day Sutton, Catherine von der Hude, and Karen Singh.
